It is one of many federally protected landscapes that is now under scrutiny from the current administration for a rollback of their status under pressure from other interests. The American idea of preserving large wild landscapes for all generations to come has been an inspiration to many people in many countries around the world, and my hope is that the US can continue to be a beacon.
